Pekka Johansson - Bass
Birthday
February 19th 1987Born to play bass
If I remember right I was at the age of 11 when I bought my first guitar. It was a crappy Stratocaster-copy equipped with one single coil microphone, but that didn’t slow me down. I was so eager to learn rock n’ roll, hah! I started taking lessons to learn the basics and practiced for a few years until I formed my first band and we tried hard to play metal. After several years of playing guitar I felt that I want to play more with rhythm. Guitar didn’t fit me so well. So I got an idea of playing bass quite naturally. Well, my friends were forming a band and heard that I have bass and asked me to play so there I was for the first time as a bassist. I continued my art in low frequencies in several bands (for example Causemos, Nerlich). Now I have found my way to Amoral and the story goes on…
Influences
I try to create my own unique style to play music but I can’t say that I haven’t taken influences. I admire musicians who play with their own styles and feeling. To name a few: Geezer Butler, John Paul Jones, Steve Digiorgio, Glen Cornick, Jaco Pastorius, Jukka Jylli, Nikki Sixx and of course Lemmy Kilmister.Equipment
I have a lot of equipment that I like to use and always when my financial status is good I buy new cool stuff. I listed here equipment that I prefer to use in Amoral now:Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass (Japan)
